M&S Launches on WebSphere Commerce

M&S this morning unveiled its new-look website, shaped around its customers over the course of more than two years of testing. The site is built, for the first time, on its own platform (IBM WebSphere Commerce) instead of the Amazon platform it traded on for many years. One of the First WebSphere Commerce as a Service Sites to go Live

IBM launched Commerce as a Service a few months ago and they have one of their first live customers: As anyone who knows Commerce will recognise - it looks very much like the starter store that was introduced in Feature Pack 5, called Aurora. WPP Announces Salmon Takeover Deal

WPP has confirmed the acquisition of the entire issued share capital of Okam Limited, the holding company of the Salmon Group. Founded in 1989, Salmon provides digital consulting, design, delivery and support services to leading retail, wholesale and manufacturing brands including the likes of Game, Halfords, Kiddicare, and Selfridges. 80% of Portaltech (UK Hybris Partner) Bought for £1.6m

In November 2011 Italian digital media and communications company Reply has bought an 80% stake in UK Hybris specialist Portaltech for £1.6m in cash. Reply also has the option to buy the remaining 20% of hybris specialist Portaltech, which is expected to turn over £4.5m in the year to May 2012 and whose clients include Monsoon, Accessorize, LK Bennett, Long Tall Sally and the Royal Mail Group.
