M&S this morning unveiled its new-look website, shaped around its customers over the course of more than two years of testing. The site is built, for the first time, on its own platform (IBM WebSphere Commerce) instead of the Amazon platform it traded on for many years.

Elastic Pathhas raised an $8 million debt round to fuel the development of its “commerce everywhere,” API — a hypermedia platform that abstracts backend complexity for the front-end developer and business person. Wellington Financial out of Toronto provided the financing.
Elastic Path has traditionally served as an e-commerce company. But over the past few years, it has focused on building an API platform that extends the capability for businesses to take commerce beyond a website.

Morrisons has announced the acquisition of Kiddicare, the award winning multi channel online retailer, together with the rights to its highly regarded technology platform, for a total consideration of £70 million. The acquisition is the first step in developing Morrisons online business.
